Anwar willing to take on both RPK and Najib in debate

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has agreed to go from top to toe with his most ardent critics, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak  and self-exiled blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin or RPK, and in a debate.

WikiLeaks chief Julian Assange“Julian Assange has agreed to host the debate among Najib, RPK and me and I have said yes,” the Permatang Pauh MP told reporters at a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.

Anwar said Assange (right), who is the founder of Wikileaks, had initially contacted him for an interview on Twitter, and he had agreed.

However, RPK then protested and butted into the deal, with Najib supporting him.

Looking at the exchange, Assange then said that he would be prepared to organise a three-cornered debate among the contentious trio.
Maybe RPK 'repented'

RPK and Najib have yet to confirm, though Anwar said he was willing to take them both on.
"(The funny thing is) Najib had supported RPK, though actually he and his wife will have the most to answer for based on allegations on the blogger's website.

NONE"But maybe RPK had repented and turned away from his old ways," sniped Anwar.

Meanwhile, a copy of a letter which appeared to be an invitation from the Wikileaks founder for the debate was posted on RPK's blog Malaysia Today.

"In response to the recent controversy over Anwar Ibrahim and Raja Petra and following Prime Minister Najib Razak's comments on the matter, we have formally invited Prime Minister Najib Razak to discuss the future of Malaysia together with Mr Ibrahim, moderated by Mr Assange," read the letter.

Video chat debate?

The invitation detailed that the trio can debate together in one location, or in isolation through teleconferencing or video chat.

The debate, if it were to take place, will be filmed, streamed online and is projected to be viewed by up to 600 million people.

Anwar had been pushing for a debate between himself and Najib though the PM was not keen to the offer.

Similarly Anwar had refused a debate dare from RPK which resulted in the self-exiled blogger activist calling him a "chicken".

The Assenge offer may be the platform that can bring the trio together for a no hold's barred fracas after only trading their invectives by proxy of the media previously.
