BN Selangor coordinator Mohd Zin Mohamed should expose details of
Malaysian Mining Corporation's (MMC) bid to privatise Keretapi Tanah
Melayu Bhd (KTMB), challenged Selangor Menteri Besar's political
secretary Faekah Husin.
"As KTMB chairperson, Mohd Zin needs to
raise the awareness of Selangor's people by revealing the terms and
conditions imposed by the federal government to ensure that KTMB's
properties and assets worth over RM50 billion, does not fall into
private companies," she said in a statement yesterday.
She
said this in response to Mohd Zin's continued questioning of the state
governments debt recovery exercise with Talam Corporation, despite independent auditors finding the deal above-board.
Faekah (left) argued that if Mohd Zin is truly wants to safeguard the people's interests, he should look into the KTMB takeover instead of attacking the Talam issue.
"What
is certain is that the transaction (between KTMB and MMC) would only
profit certain companies and individuals at the expense of the people of
Selangor.
"We all know that the takeover proposal is just one of Syed Mokhtar al-Bukhary's
(who controls MMC) efforts to accumulate land for his company, as he
had done to Pos Malaysia via DRB Hicom," she claimed, adding that the
deal was done though direct negotiation.
