NONEThe Court of Appeal on Aug 8 freed national tenpin bowling ace Noor Afizal from the five-year jail sentence imposed by the High Court in Malacca for the rape of the 13-year-old girl.

Court of Appeal president Md Raus Sharif (right), who headed a three-member bench, instead bound Noor Afizal over for good behaviour for a period of five years on a sum of RM25,000.

Gobind has also called on the Attorney-General's Chambers to file for a review of the decision, The chambers appeal and trial division head, Kamaluddin Md Said said there was no decision on the matter.

Since this case originates from a sessions court in Malacca, the Court of Appeal will be the final court to hear any appeal or mete out punishment.
