Assault on security guard: Like father, like son

YOURSAY ‘How can one be the law minister when his own son is lawless? Hypocrisy is a common trait in Umno.'

Security guard alleges assault by Nazri's son

your sayJustified: Remember the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nazri Abdul Aziz once said, "No one is above the law". Nazri, please discipline your son before you discipline others.

Jimmy Ng: Nazri will of course say that this has nothing to do with him. So the issue of him resigning does not arise at all.

Just like Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said about the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) cow-condo scandal, he will also say that he is not responsible for son Nedim's action.

We will be looking at another episode of ‘sandiwara in Bolehland' soon, where no effort will be spared to cover up this incident, starting with the condo's building management disclaiming and denying this incident ever happened.

Or they will not press charges or take action. Otherwise, their goose will be cooked, especially when the time comes for them to renew their business licences and permits.

This is shameful ‘kurang ajar' behaviour coming from a minister's son - behaving like a mafia gangster, abusing his position as the son of a minister.

Anonymous: Father a politician, son has a bodyguard and he drives a Porsche. Please explain how on earth they can afford such high living?

Anonymous: We can decide whose story to believe. Building supervisors will never ever act rough with anyone, visitor or resident. All high-end condo residents know that.

And to think that this law minister's son said that the supervisor attacked him and his bodyguard, coming as they did in a Porsche and a MPV?

Having caught on CCTV, they are trying to come up with a version that the CCTV cannot pick up. His father has the police and the AG (attorney-general) to bail him out whenever necessary, right?

We can be pretty sure that work is on overdrive to cover up or to victimise the supervisor. The CCTV will be found not working or its tape corrupted.

Lin Wenquan: Just as a country has laws, so has a guarded condominium community. The royalties should step in if at all he mentioned that he was a 'Tengku' to gain entry by avoiding registering his particulars. Scions of the royal families do not behave like this mafia and by claiming to be one, only sullies their good name.

The ‘prostituting'of the APs (approved permits) explains why this miscreant is flashing around in a Porsche and luxury MPV. I believe this may not be the first and the last time the public will hear of his reprobate behaviour.

I bet you the police will not dare touch this hoodlum and will instead haul the poor guards up and charge them for assaulting an 'exemplary' son-of-a minister. Case closed.

YF: How can one be the law minister when his own son is lawless? Hypocrisy is a common trait in Umno.

Mat Malaysia: Section 159 of the Penal Code says, "When two or more persons, by fighting, in a public place, disturb the public peace, they are said to ‘commit an affray'."

Section 160 says, "Whoever commits an affray shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with a fine which may extend to one thousand ringgit, or with both."

In other words, rap on the knuckles - probably a RM500 fine.

Unless of course, the security guard supervisor suffered a fractured jaw, or is off-work for 20 days due to pain, in which case the offence is one of "grievous hurt", for which the punishment under Section 325 for "voluntarily causing grievous hurt" shoots up to seven years and also a fine.

Although my sympathy lies with the security guard supervisor, I hope he doesn't mind me hoping his jaw needs wiring and/or he is off-work in pain from his injuries for the next 20 days.

Free Thinker: The authorities will ask the guard to "withdraw" the report or the security company will be "forced" to do so.

James Dean: This is very typical of Umno, and for that matter, all BN ministers' children. Not only do their parents think that Malaysia belong to them, their children are taught that all other Malaysians are inferior to them, and that is why they expect all others to kowtow to them.

The rakyat are expected to tremble whenever Nazri's name card is flashed around. Only recently, Nazri had said in Parliament that no parliamentary select committee (PSC) will be formed to investigate the AG and the former IGP (inspector-general of police). Well, he is just repaying both these guys.

The only way to get rid of that kind of behaviour is to put Pakatan Rakyat in Putrajaya.

Nadarajan Rengasamy: That is why I prefer leaders from PAS. They are humble and down to earth. Most of the PAS leaders and their children are well-mannered. They don't smoke cigar, drive a Porsche with bodyguards and assault others.

Only the Umno ministers' children smoke cigars, drive Porsches and assault others. This is what will call abuse of the 'hak keistimewaan orang Melayu'.

Orang Melayu di kampung hisap curut, anak Nazri hisap cigar. Orang Melayu kampung naik Proton, anak Nazri naik Porsche. Orang Melayu kampung, polis tangkap, anak Nazri, polis ‘protect'.

Vijay47: It is always most satisfying to see arrogant twits like Nazri being taken down a peg or two. I am waiting with bated breath to see what daddy has to say about his son's continuing exploits. Perhaps he will pull a Shahrizat and claim he does not know what junior does.

All the same, we are in a way thankful for the boorishness of Umno scions for their above-the-law actions.

National debt ratio and radioactive material may be too deep for us, but daylight robbery and nighttime assault are issues everyone, right down to voters in the kampongs, can understand.

And I am surprised that the son drove a Porsche. I thought he would be driving one of thousands of taxis his father allegedly owns.
