PKR-linked NGO Jingga 13 today handed the
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) email exchanges that it said
were "evidence" of prime minister’s wife Rosmah Mansor's alleged
A$100,000 (RM323,000) shopping spree in a Sydney designer boutique.
The email exchanges were found on the blog Frockwriter by Australia fashion journalist Patty Huntington, and they disclose details on what transpired between Huntington, the designer Carl Kapp and his publicist Holly Beer.
Rosmah has been slammed for allegedly having spent RM323,000 on 61 items in Kapp’s exclusive boutique during a December holiday in Australia.
Jingga 13 chief Fariz Musa said two email exchanges between Huntington and Beer detail the number of apparels bought and their value.
"We have submitted this additional evidence to show that what Rosmah and (Islamic Fashion Festival chairperson) Raja Rezza Shah have denied (about the alleged purchases) contradicts the statement from Kapp and report from Huntington," Fariz said.
On Jan 26, the group lodged a report with the MACC against Rosmah, based on a Sydney Morning Herald column that was written by Andrew Hornery.
"As we have enclosed additional evidence, we urge MACC to take the issue up seriously and investigate it without prejudice," Fariz said.
MACC should record statements from Hornery, Huntington, Kapp and the publicist Little Hero, he added.
In the said blog posting on Wednesday, titled 'Close encounters of the KL kind', Huntington defended in detail her report on Najib and Rosmah’s shopping spree.
Both Najib and Rosmah have dismissed the blog’s claims, calling the reports on Rosmah "deliberately fabricated", while Rosmah has described them as "wildly exaggerated".
