Speaking to reporters at his constituency in Padang Rengas, he advised that this is the best way to resolve the issue without having Shahrizat resign.
Nazri said with such a settlement the NFC project can continue, but he recommended that it be done through open tender to prevent any problems.
NFC has been under fire following allegations by PKR that the company, where Shahrizat’s husband Mohd Salleh Ismail, is the chairperson, is alleged to have used the soft loan as leverage to purchase two condos in Bangsar, three in Singapore and two plots of land in Putrajaya.
The NFC is supposed to supply live cattle to fulfill the demand of the Malaysian population.
At present, the police commercial crime unit and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission are investigating the company.
Shahrizat was called in by the MACC on Wednesday for investigations which they have classified under section 23 of the MACC Act for possible abuse of power.
