A PM of fluff and puff – Ali Kadir

They are corrupt, have brought the country precariously close to bankruptcy through thievery and incompetence and have divided Malaysia and yet they borrow imagery and ideas from glorious historical events like Martin Luther King’s million man march and the gathering in the square just before Egyptian President Hosni Mobarak ouster.

Such shameful characters and they think that they deserve our support. I am referring to Najib Razak and his band of bandits (otherwise known as Umno/Barisan Nasional).

Today, they hosted some so-called festival in Putrajaya where apparently one million youth turned up. Organised some futsal, had some rock music, gave away free gifts and food and then Najib urged the youth to help defend Putrajaya from Pakatan Rakyat.

Not save Malaysia from corruption, racism, racial polarisation, mediocre education system, breakdown of all institutions in the country and the slow but seemingly inescapable decline of a country which once showed much promise.

No, Najib wants young Malaysians to use their precious vote to keep his corrupt band of politicians in employ so that they can continue to milk the country dry; to amaze us with their incompetence and continue to set us on a path of division and damnation.

Najib and his friends want young Malaysians to use their precious vote so that Ibrahim Ali and Perkasa can have a carte blanche to tear this country asunder with their right wing ideals and so that discredited personalities like Rahim Thamby Chik can regale us with more porn videos.

Just like Abdullah Badawi, Najib has been good with his words and show. In short, great with fluff and not very good with substance. This country is not well, and has not been for a while.

But instead of any serious attempt to tackle issues, there is a lot of song and dance.
