He originally claimed that the 33.5 acres in Selangor were sold at RM1 per square feet, or about RM1.4 million, to BN component parties between 1999 and 2008, although it is worth RM20 million on the market.
"Allow me to make a correction here. A few days ago, I estimated the Sapu Tanah (Land Grab) 1Malaysia scandal at RM20 million.
"But after I studied this and in view of the market value from RM300 to RM400 per square foot, even if the minimum is RM200 per square foot, the value is no less than RM300 million" he said in the state assembly today.
Sri Muda assemblyperson Mat Shuhaimi Shafiei (left) added that Sapu Tanah 1Malaysia should be abbreviated as SaT1M, in honour of state opposition leader Mohamad Satim Diman, to which Ng agreed.
Meanwhile, Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim, responding to Ng, said that the matter would be looked into.
“I suggest that we study the land ownership issue and come up with a working paper (detailing) what can be done,” he said during the debate.
He said that exco members do have the power to lower land premiums even if it is as low as RM1 per square foot, but on the condition there are no conflicts of interest and that the land is used for the purpose it was proposed for.
