A useless debate – Tan Teck Huat

JULY 8 – Today’s debate between Lim Guan Eng and Chua Soi Lek is completely irrelevant as is the title of the debate.

The title is basically whose policies are better for Malaysia: DAP’s or MCA’s? To begin with is there anything as a policy mooted and driven by the MCA?

They may be the second member in the BN coalition but that is in name only: they bark when the master allows them to do and do the dirty work of their master. In between, hanging around their master with the begging bowl and waiting for instructions, they entertain the rest of the country with their sheer stupidity and incompetence.

Oh sorry, I forgot, when the MCA politician believes that no one is looking, he is raping and plundering the country ala PKFZ.

There is nothing that MCA can claim to which has brought honour to Malaysia or benefitted the country. Its main funder, the Star, is a party ragsheet with some inserts on sports and entertainment.

Even the newspaper shares the weak and spineless characteristics of the MCA. When a Home Ministry official raps its knuckles, the Star editors bend as low as possible in deference.

The MCA is  only is able to obtain some concessions on Chinese education when big brother Umno says yes.

When Hishammuddin Hussein Onn was Education Minister, he was pissed off when Ong Ka Ting and other MCA leaders did not thank him for Chinese school allocation.

Party leaders kow-tow everytime  an Umno chap burps.

So, Michael Yeoh and ASLI may think they have a winner of a debate but they don’t and Malaysians should remember that the MCA has done much for themselves and little for others.

Can Chua Soi Lek, Liow Tiong Lai, Ng Yen Yen, Wee Ka Siong and others make it in the real world?

Only one way to find out, by sending them packing in the polls. The alternative is too painful to think about: can you imagine how arrogant the MCA will be if they perform better than in 2008?
