The DAP has insisted that it does not have communist links, but pointed out that BN was the one with direct links with the Chinese Communist Party.

NONEIn a press release today, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said back in Oct 12, 2009 Umno Youth had set up a permanent secretariat to strengthen ties between BN Youth and the Communist Youth League of China (CYL).

Under BN Youth leader Khairy Jamaluddin, the secretariat seeks to facilitate contnous bilateral programmes to promote a stronger bond between the two entities.

“This is not a government to government relationship but party to party direct linkage... made knowingly, consciously and with full consent by Khairy,” said Lim.

Lim was commenting on claims by Special Branch chief assistant director of the E2(M) national social extremist threat division Mohd Sofian Md Makinuddin on Monday that PAS and DAP were infiltrated by Jemaah Islamiah (JI) terrorist and communists elements respectively.

Will Hisham show proof?

Lim said Mohd Sofian and other top special branch police officers should resign for failing to act against Khairy forging a direct relationship with the CYL instead of hunting for communist shadows in DAP.

While pointing out that no DAP leader detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) have been charged for communist links, Lim said the special branch have not objected to Malaysian government diplomatic links with China and Marxists regimes like Cuba.

“(Thus) linking DAP with communists is an electoral ploy and part of the political agenda of the special branch to frighten Malay voters to support Umno and BN,” he said.

Lim said that had the special branch been professional, it should have first approached the DAP leadership to purge the infiltrators.

Meanwhile, Lim also urged Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein to order the special branch to adduce evidence of the alleged communist infiltration of DAP.

“If Hishammuddin fails to do so, then it is the special branch that is infiltrated by Umno!

“Such desperate tactics are just like Umno who question DAP’s loyalty to Malaysia even though DAP top leaders had not obtained an Australian permanent resident (status) like a MCA minister,” he said.
